How do I set up my email in MICROSOFT OUTLOOK?
Solution Double click the Microsoft Outlook icon, then click "Tools" in the top bar, then "
Email Accounts
". Click on "Add a new e-mail account" -> click Next.

The Server Type screen opens. Click on "POP3" -> click Next.

On the Internet E-Mail Settings (POP3) screen, do the following:
  • Your Name - Enter your name as you want it to appear to others - e.g. "Joe User"
  • E-mail Address - Enter the email address that was provided to you. - e.g. "juser@yourdomain.com"
  • Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - mail.yourdomain.com
  • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - mail.yourdomain.com

  • User Name - yourname@yourdomain (omit the .com) - (user name provided to you).
  • Password - type in the password you were given -> tick the "Remember Password" box.
Click the "More Settings" button, then click on the "Outgoing Server" tab.
Tick the "My outgoing server (SMTP requires authentication), and click on the
"Use same settings as my incoming mail server" button.

Click on the "Advanced" tab. Be sure the Outgoing server (SMTP) is set to "45"
Tick the following three boxes:
  • Leave a copy of messages on the server
  • Remove from server after __ days (enter 14 days)
  • Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items'
Click OK. You will be back on the Internet E-Mail Settings screen.

Click the "Test Account Settings" button. If all was set up correctly, you'll see a window with five Tasks listed, with checkmarks in front of each. If you see all 5 checkmarks, you'll receive a test message in your account which can be deleted. If you encounter errors here, repeat all of the steps above. If that does not work, contact your system administrator with the exact error messages and make note of the lines which do not have green check marks next to them. Click Close then click Finish to close out the new email account configuration wizard.

This will return you to Outlook to resume normal email operation.
